DAY 1 Bangalore

Upon arrival in Bangalore, you will be assisted and transferred to a hotel in the city. Later in the evening, we will venture into cosmopolitan Bangalore to sample a glass of finely crafted Indian beer at one of the city's many breweries. Bangalore is renowned as the craft beer capital of India, offering a variety of brews such as IPA, Russian Imperial Stout, Blonde, Raging Elephant, Basmati Ale, Pumpkin Ale, Belgian Tripel, Classic Pilsner, and more. As one of India's most vibrant cosmopolitan cities and the capital of Karnataka, Bangalore was historically known as the Garden City. Today, it has evolved into the Silicon Valley of India, attracting a thriving Information Technology sector. DAY 2 Mysore

After breakfast in Bangalore, we will be transferred to Mysore (a 4-hour drive). In the late afternoon, we will visit the famous Mysore Palace, renowned for its Durbar Hall and the golden royal elephant throne. Mysore, with over 600 years of glorious history, is an ancient city known for its glittering royal heritage, bustling markets, magnificent monuments, cosmopolitan culture, and friendly populace. It is also a thriving center for the production of premium silk, sandalwood, and incense. If cycling through rural India sounds appealing, we are prepared for an enjoyable 30 km ride through the scenic countryside, passing Sorghum and silk farms.

DAY 3 Bandipur

Bandipur Early in the morning, we start with a bike ride up Chamundi Hills to visit the ancient temple deity and enjoy panoramic views of the city. Afterward, we transfer to explore two famous wildlife sanctuaries in South India – Bandipur and Mudumalai. These sanctuaries are part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and are dedicated to conserving the endangered tiger habitat. You can spot endemic species like the Malabar Giant Squirrel, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Lark, and Grey-headed Bulbul here. Seasonal streams along the Kabini River serve as watering holes for the region's abundant wildlife. Our destination is WindflowerResort, located on the forest fringes, where we will enjoy an immersive stay.

DAY 4 Ooty

Today, we face one of the most challenging cycling routes in South India as we ascend approximately 1200 meters to reach Ooty. Situated at around 2000 meters above sea level, Udhagamandalam, or Ooty, is a charming colonial town renowned for its English-styled cottages with unique teak floors, tiled roofs, and chimneys that seem straight out of a movie set from another era. Ooty boasts an impressive botanical garden, over 160 years old, which not only showcases a wide variety of exotic flora but also hosts many endemic bird species. From local needle factories to small quilt-making cottage industries, from the lush tea gardens surrounding Ooty to the famous chocolate fudge sold at Kingstar Bakery in Charing Cross, and the barracks at Wellington alongside prestigious boarding schools, this capital of the Nilgiris has inspired excellence in numerous fields.

DAY 5 Pollachi

This morning, we embark on a memorable journey aboard the historic Toy Train, offering breathtaking views as we descend to the renowned hill station of Coonoor. From there, we enjoy a scenic bicycle ride to Mettupalayam, a charming town nestled at the foothills of the Nilgiris. Following this, we travel by road to the captivating region near Pollachi. Toy Train: The awe-inspiring Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a historic railway line in Tamil Nadu, India, established during British rule in 1908. Still operational with its fleet of steam locomotives, it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 6 & 7 Munnar

Embark on a scenic journey to Munnar, renowned for its pristine tea estates, cool climate, and breathtaking vistas. This destination has significantly contributed to Kerala's allure among domestic and international travelers alike. Later in the day, embark on a plantation tour in the Cardamom hills, immersing yourself in the enchanting world of Kerala's spices. With packets of fresh produce in hand, you'll feel like you're in a wonderland of flavors. The culmination of the day brings us to Periyar National Park, renowned as one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in South India. Early this morning, we embark on an adventure into Periyar National Park. The Mannans, one of the oldest indigenous groups inhabiting the region, have been custodians of the forest for generations. They will guide us through the wilderness, sharing their deep knowledge of the flora and fauna that thrive here. From the serene surroundings of Periyar, we journey onward to Vagamon, a tranquil town renowned for its picturesque valleys, verdant meadows, pine forests, misty ambience, tea estates, and cascading waterfalls. The lush greenery of the landscape is truly captivating. The route to Vagamon is ideal for mountain biking, offering spectacular views of small spice-growing villages scattered across undulating roads winding through tea plantations and forests. DAY 10 Alleppey

Today, we embark on an exhilarating downhill cycling adventure, which promises to be a thrilling way to enjoy the day. After a swift and enjoyable descent, we bid farewell to our cycling route and head towards Alleppey, where the essence of your bicycling journey reaches its zenith. Awaiting us upon arrival is a luxurious rice barge moored on the serene waters of Vembanad Lake. Here, we indulge in a festive lunch accompanied by soothing music playing in the background. You will have the unique opportunity to take the helm and steer the boat, navigating through expansive stretches of blue waters. The backwaters of Alleppey sprawl into the countryside, comprising deep or shallow canals and channels that are traversed by traditional ketuvallams, ranging from small vessels to large open goods transporters.

DAY 11 Marari Beach

We begin our day at 9 am with a delightful breakfast, bidding farewell to our crew from the backwaters. Our next adventure takes us to learn about the traditional art of Coir making from a local establishment, immersing ourselves in this cultural experience. Setting off on our bikes along narrow routes that wind through numerous villages, adorned with churches and temples, we make our way to Mararikulam. This charming fishing village is nestled by the beach and holds the distinction of being rated one of the world’s top five Hammock Beaches by National Geographic. Kerala boasts the highest number of bicycle users in India, so it's no surprise that we might encounter fellow enthusiasts on our journey to this beautiful destination. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind and soak in the serene ambiance of Marari Beach.

DAY 12 Fort Kochi

Today marks an exciting journey as we pedal our way to Cochin. Our route meanders past picturesque backwater stretches, coastal villages, fish farms, and lush coconut plantations, offering scenic vistas at every turn. Cycling through these villages provides us with glimpses into the daily lives and cultural richness of the Keralan people. You might witness women preparing lunch over open fires, fishermen tending to their nets, cheerful children waving enthusiastically, and elders immersed in their traditional activities. As we approach Fort Kochi, the landscape transforms with numerous colonial buildings, spice warehouses, and art galleries lining the path.
