Tea Plantations, High Altitude Mountains Trek Western Ghats

Munnar, a charming hill town renowned for its immaculate tea plantations, refreshing breezes, and stunning vistas, is situated at the meeting point of three mountain streams—Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. Perched approximately 1,600 meters above sea level, this scenic destination once served as the summer retreat for the British administration in South India. This trek will lead you to Meesapulimala, the second-highest peak in the Western Ghats at 2,640 meters. After reaching the summit, you'll descend to Yellapatti, where you’ll find the highest operational tea factory, all set against a backdrop of stunning scenery.

Tea Plantations, High Altitude Mountains Trek Western Ghats

DAY 1 Munnar

Upon your arrival at the airport, our tour leader will greet you and arrange your transfer to Munnar. The journey will take approximately three to four hours. Once you reach your hotel, you’ll have the opportunity to unwind and recover from any jet lag or travel fatigue. After enjoying a delicious dinner, you might want to take a leisurely walk to the local market.

DAY 2 Chokramudi Hills, Munnar

Following breakfast, our representative will meet you and escort you to Lockhart Gap, renowned for its winding trails that offer breathtaking views. From this point, we will commence our trek to Chokramudi Hills. The trek covers approximately 6 kilometers. After completing the trek, we will return to the starting point and transfer you back to your hotel in Munnar.

DAY 3 Meesapuli Mala

Today, you'll be transferred to Silent Valley, the starting point for your trek, which is located 26 km from Munnar Town. Your journey begins at an altitude of 1,500 meters, and you'll gradually ascend to 2,640 meters. The trek takes you through the region's distinctive high-altitude rainforests. Meesapulimala, the second highest peak in South India, offers a challenging yet exhilarating trek. You will navigate through cloud forests and grasslands, with opportunities to observe endemic bird species and wildlife along the way. After taking in the stunning views of the forests and tea estates below, you will descend to Rhodo Valley, where you'll spend the night in a forest bungalow.

DAY 4 Yellapatty, Munnar

Experience a breathtaking sunrise at Rhodo Valley, accompanied by the refreshing mountain breeze. The Valley of Rhododendrons nestled within the Shola forest offers a truly enchanting experience. Following breakfast, we’ll commence our trek from the mansion, venturing deeper into the forest towards Yellapatti. As you traverse through the Shola Forest and grasslands, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of the Western Ghats. After completing the trek, we’ll transfer you back to Munnar.
